 Announces  a support of 2 million Euros to India to help battle

recent surge in Covid 19 cases. Aid to be directed to procure

INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY

February,21 st was declared as the International Mother Language

Day by the United Nations in the year 2000. Sanskrit can be called 

as the Mother Language for India. Some call it as a Dead Language,

some call it as God's Language & some even call it as a Language

of Hindus. Sanskrit as a language never dies.The United Nations 

observed :"when languages fade,so does the world's rich tapestry of 

cultural diversity".Thus when a language dies,a whole culture dies.

Sanskrit originated as early as 1700- 1200 BCE and was orally 

preserved as part of the Vedic chanting tradition.The scholar Panini

standardised vedic sanskrit into classical sanskrit  when he defined

the grammar around 500 BCE. In Germany 14 of the top Universities

teach sanskrit classical & modern Indology compared to just 4  in the

UK.The summer school spans a month in august every year and draws

applications from across the globe.So far 254 students from 34 countries

participated in this course. "Working on Panini's  sanskrit grammar, I

realised it could be a great tool in computing language says Mr.Anand

Mishra,an IIT Mathematics graduate who took up the study of sanskrit
