Indian Institute of Architects to Host NATCON 2016 from 
December,1 To 3rd December in Bengaluru at Hotel Lalit Ashok.


Theme of the conference is " IMAGINE THE INDIAN CITY'.
Addressing Media,Ms.Leena Kumar,Chairperson,IIA,Bangalore Chapter
said," we are previleged to host IIA NATCON 2016 in Bengaluru,-a city
which has grown from a fort city to a sprawling metropolis representing
a cosmopolitan & multinational brand.The 2016 edition of NATCON is very 
special as it commemorates the centenary celebrations of IIA.She further added
IIA-NATCON 2016,will bring together over 1000 architects,designers,policy makers
urban planners,community development advocates & academic researchers who will
discuss about design,policy,planning which can help make our cities a celebration
of life".

The Three Day conference is curated by Mr.Prem Chandavarkar,also an architect
who said,Better Society comes out of Better cities".

DEMONETISATION OF Rs.500/- & Rs.1000/- CURRENCY NOTES.

Demonetisation of Rs.500/- & Rs.1000/- currency notes is an economic decision
with political will. The government has no other alternative in the scenario of
Corruption,Black money & currency notes coming inside the country from across
the borders for funding terrorism. This is a bold decision. There are problems in
implementation which has lead to long ques in the Banks,Post offices & ATM's.
May be,the government did not factor certain points while taking the decision.
Maybe,certain unscrupulous elements wanted to sabotage the whole scheme by
making their agents to stand in queue again & again for exchange of old  Rs.500/-
& Rs.1000/-currency notes.The Washington Post reports say that the black money in 
India is estimated  to be around $400 billion.

The government & RBI should have introduced Rs.500/- in sufficient numbers
all over the country instead of Rs.2000/- in the beginning.Instead of  blaming the
government for the decision to demonetise the currency,the opposition must offer
constructive suggestions to mitigate the hardship of the people in the interest of
the nation as every one should cooperate to eradicate the evil of corruption &
black money.

The Independent,Singapore based newspaper published an article on the move of the
government of India titled"Modi does a Lee Kuan Yew to stamp out corruption in India".
Bloomberg in an article said Australia should follow India's lead & scrap its biggest 
bank notes. FORBES has published an article titled,"India's Bank Note switch   
noted a move of this magnitude would result in "Obvious chaos",but points that "so far  as it looks as if it is working".


A special mention should be made about the dedication & devotion to duty of the employees of the banks in the  country & also the Post offices. The employees of the Banks & Post offices  bore the brunt of the public fury as they worked tirelessly to handle the responssibilities
bestowed on them.It will be a good gesture if the members of the Parliament who are
the people's representatives, to acknowledge the efforts put in by the management,&
the staff of the banks & Post offices.

LOCKHEED MARTIN OFFERS TO MOVE ITS F-16 FIGHTER
AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION FROM  US TO INDIA.

This offer comes with a condition that India buys the fighter. They
have offered to make F 16 Block 70,the most advanced aircraft  in
India for India & exported to the world. "it is one of the most proven
fighter aircraft in the world & flown by air forces in 25 countries.If the 
initial orders are not there ,it may not work for the industry said,
Randall L Howard,who looks after F-16 Business Development.

Lockheed's National Executive (India),Abhay Paranjpe clarified 
that establishing the production line in India was conditional on
assured orders from Indian Air Force.

NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (NRAI),
Voice of the Indian Restaurant Industry,released the NRAI India Food
Services Report 2016 in Bengaluru.

The report commissioned by the NRAI & compiled by Technaopak,the
NRAI  IFSR 2016 is the most comprehensive trade report on the 
Indian Food Services Sector. While releasing the report,Mr.Riyaz Amlani,
President NRAI said," Bengaluru is the fourth largest food services market
after Delhi,Mumbai,& Kolkata.The sector has seen an exponential growth
over the last few years".

Market outlook: Sound macro economic performance will help the  food
services industry to become a key sector of the economy. The size of the
total market(organised & unorganised) is Rs.3,09,110 crores ( $48 Bn)
in 2016 & is projected to grow at CAGR of 10% to reach Rs,4,98,130 crores
($77 Bn) by 2021.There are many challenges that the industry faces especially
from the government & the local authorities.There are too many governing &
regulatory bodies and the association suggests for creation of an uniform
National Policy for restaurant licensing.They also suggest for creation of
a Special tourist zones where there should be relaxation regarding timing
for serving food & liquor  as it prevails in other countries where tourists throng.

PM DOES SURGICAL STRIKES ON Rs.500 & Rs.1000 NOTES.

From Midnight of 8th November,2016, Rs.500 & Rs.1000 notes  are no
longer a legal tender,P.M has announced while addressing the nation.

The new Rs.500 & Rs.2000 notes are as below:
