DEWAN BAHADUR SIR ALLADI KRISHNASWAMY IYER
(14TH MAY,1883 -3RD OCTOBER 1953).- His contribution
in drafting the Indian constitution.

He was the Advocate General of Madras Presidency.He played a major
role in drafting the Constitution of India.Dr.B.R.Ambedkar,Who chaired
the Constitution's drafting committee,credited Alladi's Contribution by
saying"there were in the drafting committee men bigger,better and more
competent than myself  such as my friend Sir Alladi Krishnaswamy Iyer".

His contribution to the legal world & his encyclopaedic knowledge of
law are preserved in the debates in the constituent Assembly.

INDIA'S OIL IMPORTS TO RAISE DESPITE PLANS TO INCREASE
DOMESTIC OUTPUT.

India's reliance on import of oil will rise from 80% to 90% by 2040.India
will become the world's Third largest consumer says International Energy
Agency (IEA) in their report released recently.

Prof.Francesco Falez,Chief of Orthopaedic & Traumatology department
at the Hospital ,Santo Spirito,Rome Italy visited Bengaluru to train few
doctors & to share his expertise  in the hip replacement surgery. He
introduced the SMF, the new generation monolithic cementless
primary femoral stem.He highlighted the features of the new
technology.Dr.Falez said that the SMF is secure, versatile and bone
conserving.The SMF monolithic stem is available in sizes 1 to 9 &
this Stem is 20% shorter than other standard primary hip systems,
providing with excellent proximal fill characteristics.

Dr.Falez said,"SMF is amongst  one of the safest & most efficient
ways to preserve & protect all the important structures around the
Hip joint and to facilitate both early recovery and long term 
function".

                                            INDIA WILL REMAIN A TOLERANT COUNTRY.

           India is more than 5000 years old and one of the oldest civilisations in the 
           world.Earlier,we were practising Sanathana Dharma which is an universal 
           Law as there were  not many religions that time  as we have today.We had 
           only one mantra"Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu" meaning every one  
           must live happily & also "Vasudeva Kutumbakam" meaning the world is one 
           big family.Hence how can India  be an intolerant country?

           We are a tolerant country that is why we were invaded  by Greeks, and  
           by  foreign muslim rulers. We were also ruled by Portuguese (in Goa),French 
           in Pondicherry,Karaikal & Mahe, Mulim rulers and by British. No other 
          country  in the world history  were ruled by so many foreigners as was in India.
          I donot know whether to call this as tolerant or our surrender,or we were weak.

          Now, coming to intolerance as made out to be by the writers, scientists &
          intelllectuals who are surrendering the awards as mark  of protest.Here.I would
          like to ask how many Scientists,Writers,& intellectuals voiced or surrendered
          their awards when the freedom of Speech was curtailed for 18 months during
          emergency or when Sikh riots took place in 1984 in Delhi,or even when 
          Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out of  Kashmir?.The awards were given by the 
          country & not by any government  for their valuable contributions in their 
          respective fields.Hence, if there are any feelings to be expressed,let us not 
         return the awards,instead use  many other forums to express the feelings 
         or anguish.
