Mr.Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill
Development & Entreneurship,Government of India said, that the aerospace industry requires One million skilled people in 10 years. It includes manufacturing,maintenance,Research & Development,Operations and MRO.
He said that the government is taking all steps for the youth  to upgrade the necessary skill required for the  aerospace industry.

AERO INDIA 2015 TO DOMINATE BANGALORE SKIES FROM 18TH FEBRUARY TO 22ND FEBRUARY,2015.

72 AIRCRAFTS,623 COMPANIES ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE PART IN THE AERO INDIA 2015.
Fighter aircrafts from US and France  and acrobatic teams from Europe   will 
keep  Bangalureans spell bound in the 10th edition of Aero India 2015.This event will
be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi.French Defence Minister is expected to attend the show and will also have discussions with Indian 
officials. Dare devil acrobatics would be on display by Flying Bulls of Czech Republic
and Scandinavian air show team and Indian Air Force's own Sarang team are also set to enthral the audience.

VIJAYA BANK -Q3 RESULTS ENDING DECEMBER,2014.

Total business of the bank registered a growth of 8.12% and is now at Rs.2,03,187 crores.

Deposits at Rs.1,24,051 crores & Advances at Rs.79,136 crores.
CASA Up by 15.54% to Rs.23,671 crores.
Net Interest Income up by 12.14%.
Operating profit up by 109%.
Net profit up by 228.36%.
Gross NPA is at 2.92%
Net NPA is at 1.89%.
Provision Coverage ratio is at 65.77%.
CRAR (Basel III is at 10.57%.  Number of branches : 1565, Number of ATM's: 1568.
Total Staff strength:13686. Cost of Funds:7.43%  & Yield on Advances :9.105.
The bank is operating on a thin margin of 1.67%.When this point was raised by
our Editor, the MD said,yes it is a "cause for worry" and we will be shedding
high cost of deposits and we will reach 2% by March ,2015.The bank should
increase CASA Deposits  from the present 19.08% , to reduce the cost of funds.

Eminenet Cartoonist & Humourist R.K.Laxman,
the creator of "Common Man" passed away in
Pune yesterday. He was aged 94 years.

Mr.R.K.Laxman was the younger brother of 
Mr.R.K.Narayan,famous writer who wrote books
viz.Malgudi Days,The Guide which was later filmed 
also,Financial Expert,and many more.

Since 1951,The Common Man represented the 
hopes,aspirations, day to day problems,faced by
him in the system we live.He said about the 
Common Man,He may be silent but he listens.

He is survived by his wife Ms.Kamala and son
Mr.Srinivas,who is a journalist.

I had an occassion to meet him in his office at Times of India in late 80's
in connection with a book he brought out for the bank.The book was
titled "Little Things Count" which clearly illustrates what the customer
of the bank expects and how to treat a customer etc. It was a very
pleasant meeting and I still cherish the meeting.

VIJAYA BANK ORGANISES SELF HELP GROUP & AGRICULTURAL CREDIT

 CAMP AT TEKAL BRANCH  IN KOLAR DISTRICT.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.B.S.Rama Rao,Executive Director of the bank.The bank sanctioned loans amounting to 
more than Rs. 5 crores to SHG's and agricultural loans to 100 groups.The bank has also adopted 7 girl children from 
the weaker section from the government schools in the district and meet their education  expenses upto graduation.
