R.K.LAXMAN-WE MISS YOU.

Eminenet Cartoonist & Humourist R.K.Laxman,
the creator of "Common Man" passed away in
Pune yesterday. He was aged 94 years.

Mr.R.K.Laxman was the younger brother of 
Mr.R.K.Narayan,famous writer who wrote books
viz.Malgudi Days,The Guide which was later filmed 
also,Financial Expert,and many more.

Since 1951,The Common Man represented the 
hopes,aspirations, day to day problems,faced by
him in the system we live.He said about the 
Common Man,He may be silent but he listens.

He is survived by his wife Ms.Kamala and son
Mr.Srinivas,who is a journalist.

I had an occassion to meet him in his office at Times of India in late 80's
in connection with a book he brought out for the bank.The book was
titled "Little Things Count" which clearly illustrates what the customer
of the bank expects and how to treat a customer etc. It was a very
pleasant meeting and I still cherish the meeting.

VIJAYA BANK ORGANISES SELF HELP GROUP & AGRICULTURAL CREDIT

 CAMP AT TEKAL BRANCH  IN KOLAR DISTRICT.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr.B.S.Rama Rao,Executive Director of the bank.The bank sanctioned loans amounting to 
more than Rs. 5 crores to SHG's and agricultural loans to 100 groups.The bank has also adopted 7 girl children from 
the weaker section from the government schools in the district and meet their education  expenses upto graduation.

Q 3 RESULTS. FY-15.

*Net profit up by 63% during 9 months FY 15 (Y-O-Y).

*Operating Profit up by 15.7%.
* Net Interest Income registered
a growth of 9% y-o-y.

*Gross NPA reduced to 5.1%.

* Net NPA reduced to 3.11%.

* E.P.S  : Rs.20/- .

CASA to aggregate deposit
 Ratio           : 33.24%.

Total branches  :1002..Of which
80% branches located in Karnataka.
Total ATM's : 1255.   Agricultural Advances increased by 20%.
Retail advances (personal segment) increased by 20%.Housing loan constitutes51%
of total retail advances.

Deposits:Retail  Deposits registered an increase of 18% y-o-y,while bulk deposits
share has come down from 21% to 12% y-o-y.
The Credit Deposit Ratio  is at 81%.

Corporate Social Responsibility: The bank has taken several initiatives in this
direction like donating 1.57 crores to Kidwai Memorial Hospital,Rs.1 crore to
KSOU,Mysore for construction of Library building. The bank has been awarded

                           Vijaya Bank announces reduction in Term Deposit interest rates  for

         SACHIN GOT BHARAT RATNA,BUT DHYAN CHAND DESERVED IT FIRST.
         
        We agree with Mr.Milkha Singh,the pride of India that "Sachin got Bharat Ratna
        but Dhyan Chand deserved it first". Dhyan Chand the wizard of Indian Hockey 
        deserved it most. Afterall, the cricket is not a Olympic game and played by 
        about 10 countries only of which Bangladesh  is a new entrant.Further, there is 
        no qualification/elimination rounds like in  football & Hockey for the world cup.
       
       When the Sports Ministry had recommended Dhyan Chand's name for 
       Bharat Ratna, the country wants to know who turned down the recommendation.
       Further,we understand that more than 100 MP's have recommended Bharat Ratna  
       to Dhyan Chand .There seemed to be a hurry in giving Bharat Ratna to Sachin.

       This is not to undermine the performance of Sachin Tendulkar who is undoubtedly
       a great cricketer,but Dhyan Chand is senior , a doyen in Indian Hockey who 
       should have been the first to get Bharat Ratna amongst the sports persons.
