celebrated their Institute Day yesterday.Prof.M.R.S.Rao
(Padmashri),Honorary Professor,SERB Distinguished Fellow
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research
was the Chief Guest.

He delivered the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial lecture  on
"Human Genome Shaping the Future of Mankind".

About CPRI : Was established in Bangalore & Bhopal by the
Government of India in 1960.The activities of CPRI are :
1.Applied Research in electrical power engineering.
2.Testing & Certification of power equipment.
3.Consultancy and field testing services to power utilities & Industry.
4.Third party Inspection and Vendor analysis.
5.Organising Customised Training Programmes for Utilities
    and Industries.
CPRI has completed over 300 R&D Projects and has more than 70
patents over the years.Many of them have been commercialised.CPRI
is the nodal agency for the research projects awarded to IISC-Bangalore
& few others helping the researchers to carry out the research in latest
technologies.Today CPRI is oneof the largest Research & Testing Houses
in the world with a gamut pf facilities under one roof.
