MARCH,26,EPILEPSY AWARENESS DAY.

Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore
organised an EPILEPSY DAY
AWARENESS Programme on March,26,to sensitise people 
about the facts & myths connected with Epilepsy.
The Chief Guest was Dr.H.V.Srinivas,Neurologist and past president of Indian Epilepsy
Association.
There are 65 million people affected by epilepsy in the world.
Of which 80% are in the developing countries.Out of this 80%,705 have no access to medical treatment for
epilepsy.
What is epilepsy? : It is a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of
sensory disturbance,loss of consciousness,or convulsions,associated with abnormal
electrical activity in the brain.
Early treatment may reduce the risk of progressing to more frequent & severe seizures.
First Aid  :If some one has a seizure.
1.Loosen clothing around the person's neck.
2.Donot insert any object in the person's mouth.
3.Remove sharp objects (Glasses,furniture & other objects) from around the person  
   to avoid injury.
4.Make the person to lie on a side to maintain open airway & prevent the person 
   from inhaling any secretions.
5.After the seizure, the person may be confused, & should not be left alone.
  TAX HAVENS SET DEADLINE FOR REPORTING INVESTOR'S TAX DETAILS.

  The British Virgin Islands,Liechtenstein & Jersey are among 44 countries that have  
  set a deadline of September,2017, for reporting investor's tax details to their Home
  governments,under pioneer plans aimed at leaving"no hiding place for Tax 
  evasion".An ambitious but realistic timetable for automatic tax information 
  was unveiled by the countries that have pledged to become early adopters of the 
  system.

MVJ MEDICAL COLLEGE &RESEARCH HOSPITAL-BENGALURU.

held their 5th Graduation day.

The Chief guest for the 5th Graduation day was  was Prof.Mahesh chandra Mishra- Director,All India Institute of Medical sciences,New Delhi.87 students  out of 100  
passed out through the portals of the college.Dr.Rangan Bhattacharya secured the  
2nd overall rank in the University followed by Dr.Sunisha  who stands overall 5th in the university ranking.

Addressing the new doctors,Prof.Mishra gave some advice to the budding doctors.He advised the doctors to be ' a Good Human being' first and should not expect to become rich in short time.
All the new doctors took the Hippocratic oath as is the custom.Prof.Mishra recalled the contribution of our ancient saints of India  Susrutha & Charaka & their 
contribution to the medical field.


INDIAN RAILWAYS EARNINGS RISE.


The Indian railways earned Rs.1,26,028.54 crores from passenger & 
Goods traffic for the period April,2013 to February,2014. as compared to 
Rs.1,12,017.08 crores for the same period last year registering a growth of 12.51%.

However, there is decline in number of passengers booked in April to 
February as compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 1.03%.

                                                          GDP GROWTH AT 4.7%
                         
                     The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth is at 4.7% in Third
                     Quarter  (October-December,2013),the seventh successive quarter 
                      when the rate was below 5%.

                      "The government was over optimistic,but there is a doubt on the  
                       upturn now" says Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Virmani.
