MARCH 10TH IS GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS(GDM)
DAY IN INDIA.
DIPSI (Diabetes in Pregnancy Study group in India),Asian Research&
Training in Institute for Skill Transfer(ARTIST);World Diabetes Foundation
(WDF); and Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India
(FOGSI) join hands to launch nationwide campaign against GDM.High
sugar levels in the mother during pregnancy needs to be tackled before
and beyond pregnancy.
Dr.V.Seshiah,Chairman & Chief Mentor,DIPSI said,"There is an urgent
need to create awareness on GDM and hence March,10th is declared as
GDM Day in India".
Dr.Hema Diwakar, Chairperson,ARTIST said,"we want India to be known
as Diabetes Care Capital of the world instead of Diabetes capital of the
world".
