GOA INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL MART-2014.

Inaugurating the GITM 2014,the governor of Goa Mr.B.V.Wanchoo urged the tourism industry in  
the state to adopt sustainable measures and 
promote ethically & morally acceptable norms 
for the tourism related activity.The Governor 
advised that we should promote sustainable and  
clean tourism which is our forte.
With the exception of minor hassles,participants were largely satisfied with the 
GITM 2014.Total of 100 hosted buyers from 28 countries,150 hosted domestic  
buyers attended in addition to many more buyers.Mr.Francisco De Braganca,President, Travel Travel & Tourism Association of Goa,said,"this is beyond our expectation.
   
I would say GITM 2014 is on par with any other similar travel marts organised in   
country". Some exhibitors felt that Goa Tourism should plan its GITM atleast a year 
in advance like other International Trade Fairs that would allow buyers and agents to plan their schedule.
Goa attracts lot of Russian Tourists and 1,50,000 Russians visited Goa whose mild &
sunny weather coincides with  severe winter in Russia.The stakeholders in the
tourism industry in Goa should make efforts to train people to learn Russian which
will ease the problems faced by Russian tourists.Goa presently attracts 2.6 million 
tourists,of which 3 lakhs are foreign tourists.
