Kerala Travel Mart (KTM)- 2022 was inaugurated by the Governor of
Kerala,Shri.Arif Mohammad Khan on 5th May,2022 at Grand Hyatt,
Bolgatty ,Kochi.KTM is the biggest Tourism Promotion event
in the country. KTM gives an oppurtunity for all the stakeholders in
the Tourism industry to come on one platform to exchange their ideas,
display their tourism products & the services they offer to the world.
The Governor said there should be a meaningful engagement with
various states for promotion of tourism in the state. Mr.Yusuf Ali,
Chairman & Managing Director of Lulu Group was the Guest of
Honour for the event. Mr.V.Venu,Addl.Chief Secretary,Govt. of
Kerala said," KTM 2022 demonstrated the resilience of the
people of Kerala,ending 2 years of slump in the tourism sector."
Principal Secretary, (Tourism),Mr.K.S.Srinivas spoke of how the
KTM is a great oppurtunity to strengthen tourism sector and
build more & better infrastructure. Mr.V.R,Krishna Teja,Director
of Tourism,Govt.of Kerala,made a presentation on the latest
trends &tourism products of the state. Mr.Baby Mathew,
President.KTM who chaired one of the seminar sessions said
that the Mart will be followed by a Travel package for 300
delegates to the state's Northern,southern & Central regions
and also to Malabar which is the new focus area for Tourism.
Mr.V.P.Joy,Chief Secretary,Govt. of Kerala said,"KTM is a
catalyst to bring back tourists to Kerala".
KTM 2022 had delegates attending from 69 countries with
55,000 business meets.Experts from across the country
addressed 4 Seminars at the event. KTM 2022 had 325 stalls.
A water filled rectangular stretch at the entrance of the KTM
gives a hands on experience of a canal with a floating bamboo
raft welcomes visitors at the KTM highlighting the theme
"Responssible Tourism" for ecological conservation and
community development.
