5th World Coffee Conference will be held in Bengaluru from
September 7th TO 12th, 2020.This is the first time,the World coffee
Conference will be held in Asia.The Theme of the Conference
is " Sustainability Through Consumption". The Conference will
be held in Bangalore Palace.
This conference is being held in the backdrop of the worst price
crisis in the Coffee industry in more than a decade.5th WCC will
consist of 3 days closed door official meeting amongst member
countries & three days conference & exhibition attended by over
1000 delegates from about 80 countries.there will also be Expo
awards,Field visits, Golf Tournament,CEO conclave and
Buyer- Seller Meet.
Why Asia & Why Bengaluru? : The World Coffee consumption
is growing at 2% whereas the the consumption in Asia is growing
at 5%. India is the 7th largest coffee grower in the world.Karnataka
produces 70% of the coffee in the country.Vietnam is emerging as
one of the largest coffee growers in Asia.
Coffee farmers in deep debt world over & India is no exception.
There are surplus stack allover the world & hence the price has
fallen.Unless the Consumption is increased,there will be Demand
supply gap to the detriment of the coffee growers.
