Voice of the Indian Restaurant Industry,released the NRAI India Food
Services Report 2016 in Bengaluru.
The report commissioned by the NRAI & compiled by Technaopak,the
NRAI IFSR 2016 is the most comprehensive trade report on the
Indian Food Services Sector. While releasing the report,Mr.Riyaz Amlani,
President NRAI said," Bengaluru is the fourth largest food services market
after Delhi,Mumbai,& Kolkata.The sector has seen an exponential growth
over the last few years".

Market outlook: Sound macro economic performance will help the food
services industry to become a key sector of the economy. The size of the
total market(organised & unorganised) is Rs.3,09,110 crores ( $48 Bn)
in 2016 & is projected to grow at CAGR of 10% to reach Rs,4,98,130 crores
($77 Bn) by 2021.There are many challenges that the industry faces especially
from the government & the local authorities.There are too many governing &
regulatory bodies and the association suggests for creation of an uniform
National Policy for restaurant licensing.They also suggest for creation of
a Special tourist zones where there should be relaxation regarding timing
for serving food & liquor as it prevails in other countries where tourists throng.
