This workshop introduces the latest technology in the field of vascular & Interventional Radiology to professionals & students.Interventional Radiology (IR) is a super speciality amongst medical specialities.This is a specialised field in Radiology where image guidance,such as X-Rays,Ultra sound Computed Tomography(CT) & magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are used to perform a wide range of minimally invasive procedures.This method is useful in treating mainly Uterine Fibroid (without removing Uterus)enlarged prostate (without Catheter,day care),Varicose veins (under local anesthesia),thyroid nodule (without neck scar),liver cancer (without surgery),peripheral arterial diseases (angioplasty) and many more.
Speaking to media, Dr.Reddi prasad,President ISVIR Karnataka siad," IR's perform procedures through a tiny incision and this is termed as "Pin Hole" as opposed to Key Hole or open surgery".
