FORTIS LA FEMME LAUNCHES AMAARA-THE FIRST PUBLIC
MILK BANK IN BENGALURU.

Fortis La Femme (Hospital for women & Children),Richmond Road,Bengaluru
in association with the Breast Milk Foundation (BMF), a non profit organisation
has launched Bengaluru's first Public Human Milk Bank,"AMAARA".The centre 
would like to reach babies who are deprived of mother's milk.AMAARA is an initiative
of WHO Millineum Development Goals of reducing the infant mortality rate.

Human Milk Bank in the world was started in 1910 much earlier than Blood bank
which was started in 1920.

Over the last year,Amaara has successfully collected milk from 66 donor mothers
& delivered it to 206 new born babies across more than 10-12 hospitals in Delhi,NCR.

The Motto is " Every mother must feed their baby".The Milk bank was inaugurated
by Mr.Ryszard Czarnecki,Vice president of The Euripean ParliamentmBrussels,Belgium
along with Dr.Ashwath Narayan,MLA.Ms.Anika Parashar,COO,Fortis La Femme,
Dr.Raghuram Mallaiah,Director,Neonatology,Fortis La Femme & Co Founder Amaara
& Dr.Ankit Srivastava,Co Founder Amaara were also present.
